Have you ever get into a situation where your external harddisk sometimes can be read sometimes cannot be read even when you already test it on multiple Mac devices?
This is the result of the last update in harddisk or ssd format type during High Sierra to Mojave which is using HFS+, since then there are a total of three different format type of Mac devices. This confused our Exfat formatted external harddisk :)
Two steps to solve in the Disk Utility external harddisk can be seen but grey out and cannot be mounted not even first aid do any help:
1. Download and install.
2. Double click and run Microsoft NTFS for Mac.
Tips for Technician in the event where you do not what format type is your external harddisk always use High Sierra to read the external harddisk because High Sierra can read all the three format types.
